Miguel is a Postdoctoral Researcher who was granted a Marie Curie Global Fellowship by the European Commission. His research focuses on urban building energy modelling using both physically-based and statistical approaches. From the models, he looks for strategies to mitigate urban heat islands and climate change. He also studies methods to generate the models from 3D city models and calibrate them from Internet-of-Things data so that they can easily be integrated into smart city digital twin platforms.
Before joing the Delft University of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University as Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Miguel received his Ph.D. in Building Science from the National University of Singapore. He then worked as Senior Research Fellow at the Berkeley Education Alliance for Research in Singapore.
