About: Leneve Ong
Leneve hails from the San Gabriel Valley in California and has been lucky enough to spend summers growing up in Hong Kong and partake in travelling to various other countries. At the time, she didn't exactly know what an engineer was but decided to take the plunge at UC Berkeley and obtain her BS in Environmental Engineering Science where she could study her interests in energy, urban planning, architecture, and environmental issues. For her masters, she attended Carnegie Mellon University and discovered the fascinating world of data mining and its applications to civil infrastructure problems, and she is now pursuing her PhD studies there. With regard to research, her main focus is on developing dynamic models of electricity supply and demand by incorporating building and usage data. Power quality, demand response, and life cycle costing of energy systems are also of interest.
